We went behind the scenes at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens press conference as part of the Global Media Day celebrating the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this Friday. Costumes, exclusive artwork, BB-8, R2-D2, C3PO, and more, were on hand for the press to immerse themselves in the awakening of the force.
Behind the Scenes at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Press Conference
Walking into the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Press Conference with the heavily guarded location was surreal. From the moment I walked past the white curtain blind I knew I had stepped into something special, a once and a lifetime experience.
At the event, press had an opportunity to hang out with BB-8, R2-D2, and C3PO, take an up close look at the cast costumes, the actual costumes worn by the cast in the film, try the all-new Star Wars Google Cardboard VR Viewers (which are AMAZING by the way!), play with the all-new Disney Infinity Star Wars edition characters, and create a one of a kind Star Wars: The Force Awakens/Bad Robot shirt (JJ Abrams Production Company), all before having the unbelievable opportunity to interview the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
OMG the toys!!! You won't have a problem finding the perfect gift for the Star Wars lover in your life this season. The toys and apparel merchandise already available for this film is remarkable.
From luggage, apparel (jackets, shirts, pant, hats, shoes, socks, you name it), to your favorite toys like Lego, Funko Pop, X Box, Playstation, Disney Infinity, and more, there's not a single product this year that has yet to embrace the film of the year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
And the one guy stealing the show this year is the ever-so-adorable BB-8. Even before the film has been released, this little guys has stolen the hearts of kids and adults alike, even mine.
Authentic cast costumes.
Getting a chance to look at the authentic cast costumes up close was a moment of a lifetime. The details within each costume are simply astounding.
Outside the press conference the First Order Snow Trooper, First Order Flame Trooper, Kylo Ren, Han, and Leia costumes lined the hall seemingly greeting us.
Inside the press conference hall, the newest characters to grace the screen with Han, Leia, and Luke, were on display and featured in their natural setting. The Captain Phasma, Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron costumes were everything you would expect and more.
But before we new it, it was time to begin the press conference of the year for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, featuring Carrie Fisher (“Leia”), JJ Abrams (Director/Producer), Daisy Ridley (“Rey”), Adam Driver (“Kylo Ren”), Lupita Nyong’o (“Maz Kanata”), and Lawrence Kasdan (Screenplay By), as well as Harrison Ford (“Han Solo”), John Boyega (“Finn”), Oscar Isaac (“Poe Dameron”), Gwendoline Christie (“Captain Phasma”), Kathleen Kennedy (Producer), and moderated by Mindy Kaling.
