Oceanside Marina is a small Cape Cod-style fishing village home to over 900 yachts and boats that sits along white sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California. Complete with a lighthouse and several boutiques, cafes, and restaurants, it's no wonder the Holiday Inn brand chose Oceanside to be the home of one it's most welcoming, contemporary hotels.

Just to the east of the Holiday Inn Oceanside hotel is the main gate of MCB Camp Pendleton. The Holiday Inn hotel offers Government Per Diem Rates (with meal credits), and the hotel specializes in accommodating military groups for pre and post deployments, trainings, and meetings.

As you approach the city of Oceanside, you can't help but get excited at the sight of the never-ending shore of the Pacific Ocean. Stretching as far as the eye can see, the soft and playful waves dance on the sand as the boats along the marina seem to dance on the water. The Holiday Inn Oceanside/Camp Pendleton hotel is located just 10 minutes from this stunning wharf.

The rooms at the Holiday Inn Oceanside/Camp Pendleton hotel feature a warm, contemporary feel that radiates the welcoming, down to earth feeling you expect to find at Holiday Inn brand hotels. The Junior Suite we stayed in below features an ocean view and a pull our sleeper sofa perfect for our large family of six.

The first eye-catching amenity our children caught sight of was the observation deck atop the hotel. From here you can watch the striking sunrise over the top of the bustling city, or relax as you catch the spectacular sunset over the pacific ocean.

Before wandering down to explore the Oceanside Marina we stopped by the Aryana Restaurant and Bar located within the hotel for delectable dinner our entire family loved.

The restaurant is a full-service restaurant with a separate bar for the adults. Best of all, since Kemmons Wilson (launched the Holiday Inn brand in 1952) believed family travel should be affordable and there should never be an extra charge for children, Holiday Inn hotels feature the Kids Stay and Eat Free® program at every location.

The Aryana restaurant serves a variety of American cuisine including steak, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, salads, soups, and bar fare, as well as a full selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The restaurant booths are even equipped with HDTV's so you can relax and unwind watching your favorite shows.

After dinner it was time to hit the beach to try to catch the amazing sunset over the ocean. As we strolled through the Oceanside Marina's village to the edge of the ocean, we couldn't help but take in all the beautiful views around us.

If you happen to be on the docks as the fishing boats come in, you can watch the pelican's stalk the boats as they pull into harbor awaiting the fisherman's extra bait that gets tossed overboard. It's quite a spectacular sight to see.

You can easily reach the beach on a 10-minutes leisurely walk. If you don't do anything else when you stay in Oceanside, I fully recommend watching a sunset on the beach. There is something spectacular about watching the sun set over the endless ocean.

While on the beach your heart will fill with joy if you happen upon one of the many beach-side weddings (we saw two) or even a family snuggled around a bonfire. The Oceanside area is an inviting town full of social and friendly people.

But just because the sun has set, doesn't mean the night is over.

One of our children's favorite part of the trip was swimming at night in the Holiday Inn hotel heated pool and whirlpool. Even if the night gets cold, which it did when we visited, the 80 degree pool will let you enjoy a relaxing night under the stars with the people you love most.

In addition to the heated pool and whirlpool, other hotel amenities include: Church Services, Dry Cleaning/Valet, Fitness Center, Guest Laundry, In-Room Dining, Free Wi-Fi, Refrigerators/Microwaves, In-Room Safes, and more.

Breakfast the next morning was just as amazing as the dinner the night before. We enjoyed another delicious meal from the Aryana Restaurant and their full service menu. And just like dinner, kids always eat free with a paying adult.

But if you're in a hurry and need to leave for one of the many attractions near the Holiday Inn hotel in Oceanside, you can grab a quick bite on the go from the breakfast bar downstairs.

You can even enjoy a warm cup of coffee with your breakfast atop the hotel on the observation deck. Just don't forget a blanket to snuggle with on the chilly mornings.
