Wanderlust Travel Blog

Definition: Wanderlust | Wan·der·lust /ˈwändərˌləst/ noun: a strong desire to travel.

Outside of family, there's nothing that makes us happier than when we get bit by the wanderlust travel bug and head outdoors in search for the best family-friendly travel locations to explore. And with a large family of six, you can believe we have some hilarious blunders and misadventures along the way, most notably our trip to Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico.

Our trip to Mexico wasn't without a bit adventure getting there, after our airplane failed and our airline ditched us in the middle of a cute little town called Cihuatlán, Jalisco, Mexico. And yes, by ditched I mean they seriously ditched us. They drove us half way to our location, kicked us off the charter bus, and ditched us. What! I know! But that bus trip is a whole ‘nother story.

We were lost, only spoke English, and had to find a way to Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. We found a local willing to drive us who was a crazy driver, seriously (insert bleeping words here) crazy. As he ran stop signs and through military roadblocks we couldn’t believe what was happening to us. It was quite the adventure to kick off a week-long stay in Mexico, but it was amazing, full of excitement, and one we will never forget! And winning two bottles of tequila from a dance-off at a Discoteca was the cherry on top of the cupcake on that trip, but that's a whole ‘nother story too!

We hope you enjoy and share our passion for travel, find somewhere new to explore, and are inspired to embark on a journey (or two) to find inner peace and happiness no matter where you go. You only live once; but if you live it right, once is enough.

‘Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.' – Mark Twain
