Hi, Everyone! Sami from The Unexpected Type here today with a 3-Step DIY Easter candy idea, Easter candy nests. Baskets line the shelves of every and any craft store when Spring rolls around and this year I wanted to tackle Easter with a different approach by not using a basket at all.
I found these birch containers in the dollar section at Michael's and thought they would be great to hold a few eggs and candy for any little ones on Easter! Nothing excites any child more than unwrapping a box!
Easter Candy Idea: Easter Candy Nests!
This DIY is super simple, but extremely cute! Everyone will be asking you where you got these Easter candy nests at your Easter get-together, but you get to spill the secret that you made them yourself.
What you Need:
- $1 Birch or Paper Mache Boxes
- Paint & Paintbrushes
- Eggs of your choice
- Candy of your choice
- Easter Grass
- Multi-purpose permanent pen (such as Micron)
Directions:
- Start by painting your boxes with your color of choice, then setting them out to dry for 10 minutes. Apply another coat if your color isn't as opaque as you would like it to be.
- After your boxes have dried, use your permanent pen (or paint) to write their names on the boxes and decorate with a fun Spring-inspired garland!
- Fill your eggs of choice with candy and line your boxes with Easter grass to make a “nest” then place in your eggs and larger candy, cover, and that's it!
It only took three steps to make these super cute Easter candy nests. They're perfect for a party and would also make great place settings if you plan on hosting a brunch. Happy Crafting!
