There's nothing like the sweet, smoky flavor of perfect fall off the bone, grilled sweet BBQ baby back ribs, the perfect party food recipe for your summer holiday celebrations!
If you're anything like me you never want to miss a minute of the party, especially for cooking, which is why we always prep as much of our cooking a day or two before the party, even the meat.
With our Perfect Fall Off the Bone Grilled Sweet BBQ Baby Back Ribs recipe below, you can prepare and cook your ribs the day before the party so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the party with your family and friends. That is after all why you threw a party in the first place right?
Cooking your ribs the day before doesn't mean you'll lose any of that smoky BBQ flavor you can only get from a charcoal grill either. By waiting until grill time to sauce your ribs, you are guaranteed to get that rich, deep, straight off the grill flavor your taste buds long for.
This holiday weekend, from July 2nd through July 6th, you can grab the Kingsford Original Twinpack from The Home Depot for the sale price or $9.88. That's over half off on our favorite briquets to keep us grilling all weekend long.

Sweet Brown Sugar Dry Rub
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoons onion powder
1 teaspoons cayenne
Homemade Sweet BBQ Sauce
1 1/4 cups ketchup, preferably organic
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon worchestire sauce
2 1/2 teaspoons ground mustard
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
Pre-Bake the Ribs (You can even do this the day before)
Combine the Sweet Brown Sugar Dry Rub ingredients in a bowl. Rub into pork ribs. For best results, allow ribs to marinate overnight or at least 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place ribs on a roasting rack and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the meat begins to pull away from the bone.
If pre-baking the ribs the day before, place the cooked ribs in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight.
While ribs are baking: Combine Homemade Sweet BBQ Sauce ingredients in a medium size sauce pot. Bring to a boil and reduce and simmer for five minutes or until all the sugar has dissolved. Set aside, or cover and place in the refrigerator if using the next day.
Grill the Ribs
Prepare Kingsford Original briquets as directed.
I like to leave my briquets hot, with a bit of flame to caramelize the BBQ sauce for added flavor and texture.
When the briquets are ready, slather the Homemade Sweet BBQ Sauce on both sides of the ribs and grill until heated through and desired color is reached. Keep in mind your ribs are already fully cooked. Serve immediately.

Hi Dave,
We always purchase the pack of baby back ribs from Costco, which consists of the three racks on the grill. I'm not sure of the total weight of the ribs. But, anything close to the three racks should work.
